Eclectic Plus Size Outfit Ideas

This week, I felt like getting creative in my closet and building some eclectic and fun outfits using pieces from my closet. I wanted to tap into the clothes that I don’t get to wear too often and create some interesting looks.

For this outfit, I wanted to build something fun and bold. I’ve been incorporating more color into my outfit creations. So, for this outfit, I wanted to use dashes of color to build an adorable creative look.

I started with this orange corduroy skirt. This skirt is a piece that I usually save for fall, but I love the bright orange color of this button front skirt and wanted to break it out during the spring.

From there, I included this graphic tee. I wanted to add dashes of color to my outfit, and this shirt was doing just that. I love how bold and colorful it is and how it works so nicely with the orange skirt. Finishing the outfit, I went with a white belt, and then added these pointy brown boots. These boots have a western design that adds a little quirkiness and works so well with the overall outfit.

This is such a fun and creative outfit. I love the combination of the skirt and shirt together. The bright and beautiful colors make this a very interesting and fun outfit combination.

For outfit two, I was dying to use this jumper. It’s such an interesting piece that gives me art teacher vibes and I love it. I wanted to create something easy and casual with a lot of style, and this ensemble does just that.

I started with this brown jumpsuit. This jumpsuit has become one of my favorite additions. I love the wide legs and how it looks like overalls. Also, the color is so nice and has an earthy feel—such a nice neutral piece.

To go with the jumpsuit, I picked a white long sleeve bodysuit. I wanted to use a bodysuit because it is form fitting and gives a smooth, seemless look under the jumpsuit. Finishing the look, I went with a low profile Converse sneaker to keep the look casual and simple.

This is an outfit you have to put in your go-to file. It’s so easy to put together and perfect for your everyday tasks. Change out the shoes for a mule or heeled sandal for a dressed up adorable look.

Outfit three is a mishmash of casual and dressier pieces to create a fun, colorful, and unique outfit. This one is perfect for this eclectic list because it’s interesting, but so stylish.

I started with this pleated yellow midi skirt. There is something about this shade of yellow that I absolutely adore. It’s works so well with my skin tone and is the perfect color for spring. I also love the design of this cut. It’s a wonderful midi length and is so playful and fun.

I paired the skirt with this denim shirt. This is such a casual piece that works well with this skirt, but is subdued enough to let the skirt shine. I love pairing denim shirts with colorful pieces. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s denim and pairs nicely with other colors. Denim shirts are an excellent piece to keep in your closet. You can find so many uses for this simple and durable piece.

To complete the look, I went with a brown belt and some heeled brown sandals. The brown sandals give me some height, which I need with this skirt. The shoes also keep the outfit casual but still dial up the cuteness.

I think this is an interesting outfit for those days that you want something a little dressy, but also want to keep it casual. It’s a bold combination that definitely tells a story and leaves an impression.

I’m a lady that loves neutrals. I especially love the color black. So, this black and white skirt outfit is giving me all the things I love, all while being a sexy and creative look.

I started with this white skirt with black dots. This skirt has been in my closet for years and has also gone through some transformations. It was a midi skirt with buttons down the front when I got it. Then I did a little thrift flipping and gave it a slit up the side. I feel it’s an adorable transformation that’s minimal and a little sexy.

Keeping with the basic look, I paired the skirt with this black mock neck crop top. I love how this top is fitted and stops just above the waist of the skirt, showing a little sliver of skin.

Completing the look, I chose a black heeled sandal. The shoe gives me a little height and keeps with the peek-a-boo theme of the outfit. It’s also black, which helps tie together all the neutral tones I’ve been building with.

This is a feminine and sort of sexy look. There are some peek-a-boo moments with the slit and the crop top. It’s showing just enough skin to give off that subtle hint of sexy without giving too much. This is a perfect outfit for date night or maybe drinks with the girls. It’s not too dressy, but still has enough style to take you into whatever occasion you’re getting into.

This next outfit shows a little skin and gives such a fun and creative mix of casual and formal. It also feels retro as it gives an air of the 2000s. This is the type of look that is fun and creative, which is how I love to build outfits.

I started with these flare legged jeans. These jeans are from the Sofia Vergara line at Walmart—I highly recommend. I love that flare legged jeans take me back to when I was younger. Back in the day, I wore flares all the time. They’re still a cut of jean that I adore and feel bring such an interesting feel to an outfit combination.

Next, I went with this tie up crop top. This shirt is an unusual piece in my collection. I thrifted it years ago when I was making a video on being plus size and wearing crop tops. I was drawn to it because of the ties that wrap around the abdomen and its bell sleeves. This top gives such retro vibes and plays so nicely with the flare jeans.

From there, I went with a blazer. Why? I don’t really know. Sometimes I just go with what speaks to me while I’m creating outfits. I listen to the clothes and move accordingly. Just kidding… while kind of kidding. Seriously, I picked it because I felt this outfit needed a third piece, and a blazer just felt like a cool piece to add to this very casual look. I love mixing formal and casual pieces. They make such creative and fun outfits.

Finishing things off, I went with a pair of mules. These pointy toe mules really drive home that 2000s feel. Pointy toe shoes are so amazing and I adore this pair. They always add such a dash of sophistication to my outfits.

That finishes the look. This one is certainly perfect for this video of eclectic outfit styles. I think the pieces play nicely together. I also am living for how retro, but still modern this outfit is. If you’re looking for an outfit for a night out, and want something special with a splash of retro, then this is the look for you.
