White Button Down Shirt with Baggy Jeans
This look is a play on the classic uniform of a white button down and jeans but with a little flair.
I started with these baggy distressed jeans. They’re from target and I believe the name of them are the 90’s straight. I love that they’re more fitted through the thigh and baggy at the bottom. Baggy jeans don’t always work for my body when they’re too oversized so these being slightly fitted helps. And yes, I'm aware these jeans are trendy. The first jean joke was a joke. I like a few trends. Not all, but some.
From there, I went with a plain white button down shirt. This one is a Calvin Kline slim fit shirt that I thrifted from the men’s section. Like I said before, do not sleep on the men’s section of thrift stores. You can really find some gems. I tucked in as much of the shirt I could to get a more fitted look and not too boxy.
Finishing the look off I went with these leopard pumps to bring in just a little contrast. A nude heeled sandal was my first choice but it’s cold and we pick comfort over style at Vividly Bright.
I love this look. It’s so simple but just gives so much style. The distressing against the tailored crispness of the shirt just works so well. I’ve seen others do this look with a baggy shirt and baggy jeans. Given I’m a bigger lady, I feel that’s too heavy on my frame. That’s why I opted to play with my proportions. if I go baggy on the bottom go fitted on the top. It’s a trick I love to use when creating gorgeous outfits like this one.
