Style For Days: White t-shirt

Today, I’m starting a new series called Style for Days. In this series, I will take one wardrobe essential item and show you several ways you can style it. I’ve gone over in previous videos and post all of the essential items every curvy girl should have in her closet. Now, I’m going to show you how to style those items.

The item I’m styling is the plain white t-shirt. The plain white t-shirt is a wardrobe staple everyone should have. If you don’t have one go get one. There is so much you can do with a plain white t-shirt, and I’m going to show you seven style options you can try.

Things you will need:

Here are some of the things I will be using. Some of these things are thrifted so I can’t provide links. This video is really more so for inspiration.

  • Jeans. Any kind you want is fine. I’m using skinny.

  • Faux leather leggings

  • Joggers

  • Denim shorts

  • Black denim skirt

  • Midi skirt

  • Crochet wrap vest

  • Flannel shirt

  • Leather jacket

  • Low profile sneakers

  • Chunky sneakers

  • Loafers

  • Sandals

  • Espadrille sandals

  • Black booties

  • Optional items: Belt and hats

  • And the white t-shirt.

I will be using two plain white t-shirts. One is a v-neck shirt with a  curved hem. The other is a crew neck t-shirt also with a curved hem. I love to use curved hemmed shirts because they’re flattering to a curvy frame. Both of these shirts are from Old Navy. Let’s get into it.

Style One:

For style one, I wanted to start off super simple with one of my favorite everyday looks. Jeans and a t-shirt is my go-to. I paired my white t-shirt with a pair of skinny legged jeans, a belt, and some white converse. It’s easy, stylish, and gets you out the door. Sometimes I might add a hat, but that’s it. This is definitely a simple dress and go type outfit.

 Style Two:

Staying with the casual look. I paired the shirt with some denim shorts. I then added this crochet wrap vest to give it a bit of a summery boho feel. I finished it off with a simple sandal. You could definitely go with a sandal with a heel. Adding an espadrille sandal would certainly elevate the look. I also added a fedora hat because I only own fedoras, but you could go with a floppy boho chic type hat instead. This is another go-to outfit that is simple but full of style.

 Style Three:

This next outfit is a business casual look. I took our v-neck white shirt and paired it with this thrifted plaid blazer and a pair of jeans. I finished it off with a plain black loafer and belt. You can easily swap the loafer for a heel to dress it up. Add accessories and you have a perfect dressy but casual look.

 Style Four:

This outfit is outfit is another simple everyday outfit. I took the crew neck shirt and tied it at the waist. I then paired it with this button front midi skirt. I finished the look off with these casual espadrille slide sandal and a black hat. You can trade out the sandal for a heel and maybe add a leather jacket and this will easily turn into a nighttime look.

Style Five:

Okay, I was getting a little adventurous and wanted to break out of my very neutral palette here. I paired the v-neck with a pair of black faux leather leggings. I love faux leather leggings. It’s the best way to look like you’ve done something extra, but really haven’t done anything at all. Not to mention, they’re so comfy—it’s a win all around. I added this red flannel around my waist to give it a pop of color and a little more edge. I finished this outfit off with a hat and a chunky sneaker. This outfit is my take on a toned down street style. I guess you can say street style but mom friendly. It’s casual and fun. You can go without the flannel and add a jean jacket and still have a great, easy outfit.

Style Six:

This outfit is certainly a more dressed up look. I took the v-neck shirt and paired with with this black denim skirt. I added a leather jacket for a little texture and edge. I finished this look off with a belt and these faux suede booties. You could also go with a heel. This is a perfect date night outfit.

 Style Seven:

This outfit is casual but still has some dressy elements. I took the v-neck shirt and paired it with these gray joggers. I finished it off with a chunky pair of sneakers, a hat, and a leather jacket. I think the leather jacket dresses it up a bit. This is a simple casual outfit with a little bit of spunk.

Okay, those were the outfits. Which style do you want to try? What is your go-to white shirt outfit? Leave them in the comments. Also, leave what wardrobe staple you would like me to do next.

Until next time Stay bright, live true, and be vividly you.
