Playing with Trends: Plus Size Leather Pants and Sheer Top Outfit
For this outfit, I wanted to play with a few of the trends that I’ve been reading about—leather, sheer, and elevated basics. I think this outfit is giving a bit of these trends while still being a gorgeous look.
I started with these leather pants. They’re from The Who What Wear line at Target and they’re very comfortable. I think they’re the perfect blend of dressy, but still very casual.
Next, I went with this thrifted sheer top. Sheer has been and is on trend. Surprisingly, I’ve been loving this trend. I’ve never been a sheer kind of girl, but when done right, it’s an amazing addition to an outfit.
From there, I added this blazer. I just felt this outfit needed a third piece and this tweed blazer just felt right. It’s bringing a more formal feel to the playfulness of the sheer top and the edginess of the pants.
Finishing the look, I went with a pair of black platform heels. That’s the look. I love that this outfit hits all the points I was going for. The sheer top shows just enough skin to bring in a sexy feel. The leather pants bring in texture and dimension. Then, when you put it together with the tweed jacket, it gives it an elevated look to what is essentially all basic pieces. This is a must repeat outfit that is perfect for day or night.
